How to Record a Sale – Visual How To Guide

It’s important to keep track of all your financial transactions, especially sales! The sale transaction enables you to record an accurate financial breakdown of your sale (tax, discounts, stepped payments etc) and client contact details – all of which can be used to generate a sale invoice and sent to the buyer.

Record Sale details for one object

1. Go to the object you wish to record Sale details for.

2. Click on the Actions button in the top right hand corner of the page. Then select Sale (or Auction Sale) from the actions menu panel – which will produce the Add Sale window.

3. Fill in the acquisition fields presented, such as: Buyer and Seller Name, Invoice Date, Invoice No., and Price.

4. Save the details by clicking Save and Return or Save and Continue;

  • Save and Return will return you to the object page where the information you have entered will be displayed under Sale in the Activities & Financials section if the object page;

  • Save and Continue will take you on to the sale page where you can continue to add additional details and documentation;

Record Sale details for multiple objects – e.g. a multi-object invoice

1. Go to any object list view.

2. Start scrolling through the object list and select each object you want to add sale details to by clicking on the check box on the left hand side of the object row. The check box will turn red once an object has been selected.

3. Click on the Actions button in the top right hand corner of the page. Then select Sale (or Auction Sale) from the actions menu panel – which will produce the Add Sale window.

4. Fill in the sale fields presented, such as: Buyer and Seller Name, Invoice Date, Invoice No., and Price.

5. Save the details by clicking Save and Return or Save and Continue;

  • Save and Return will return you to the object list;
  • Save and Continue will take you on to the sale page where you can continue to add additional details and documentation;

View all Sale Records

A full list of Acquisition (or Auction Acquisitions) can be accessed by clicking on Activities in the left hand menu panel. Once on the Activities page click on the Filter button in the top left hand corner of the page

When the filter options are displayed on the left hand side of the screen, click on Sale (or Auction Sale).
