How to Record a Valuation – Visual How To Guide

There are a many reasons why you might need to have your collection valued. You may need one for insurance purposes or perhaps you are putting objects up for sale? Learn how to record the appraised value of the objects in your collection to refer to or share with interested parties at anytime.

Record a Valuation for one object

1. Go to the object you wish to record a valuation to.

2. Click on the Actions button in the top right hand corner of the page. Then select Valuation from the actions menu panel – which will produce the Add Valuation window.

3. Fill in the valuation fields presented, such as: Valued By, Valuation Issue Date, Valuation Basis, and the Value;

4. Save the valuation by clicking Save and Return or Save and Continue;

  • Save and Return will return you to the object page where the information you have entered will be displayed under Valuation in the Activities & Financials section if the object page;

  • Save and Continue will take you on to the Valuation page where you can continue to add additional details and documentation.

Record a Valuation for multiple objects

1. Go to any object list view.

2. Start scrolling through the object list and select each object you want to add valuation details to by clicking on the check box on the left hand side of the object row. The check box will turn red once an object has been selected.

3. Click on the Actions button in the top right hand corner of the page. Then select Valuation from the actions menu panel – which will produce the Add Valuation window.

4. Fill in the valuation fields presented, such as: Valued By, Valuation Issue Date, Valuation Basis, and the Value;

5. Save the valuation by clicking Save and Return or Save and Continue;

  • Save and Return will return you to the object list where the information you have entered will be displayed in the Valuation column;

View all Valuations

A full list of Valuations can be accessed by clicking on Activities in the left hand menu panel. Once on the Activities page click on the Filter button in the top left hand corner of the page

Once the filter options are displayed on the left hand side of the screen, click on Valuations.
